Ms Bobbeeta Sharma was officially associated with the Indian National Congress party since 2002. She was a Spokesperson of Assam Pradesh Congress Committee in 2002 and served the party in various capacities over the years as Secretary, Senior Spokesperson, General Secretary, Chairperson Media Department, Chairperson Research Department as well as Vice- President of APCC till 2025. She also served as National Media Coordinator of All India Congress Committee. She contested as a Congress candidate from East Guwahati Constituency in 2016 and in the 2019 Lok Sabha elections from Guwahati Constituency but lost to BJP candidates.
